Terrorists’ bid to snatch weapons foiled: Police

Srinagar: Alert cops today foiled a weapon-snatching bid by the militants in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. Two militants attacked the police personnel guarding the Wanpoh grid station in Kulgam district and tried to snatch the weapons of the cops posted there, a police official said. He said the cops opened firing, forcing the militants to flee from the spot. Meanwhile militants hurled a grenade towards an Army camp in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir this evening, but there were no reports of any casualty, police said. The grenade attack targeted the 34 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Nehama in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, a police official said. He said there are no reports of loss of life due to the explosion. Further details were awaited, the official said.
