JAMMU, MAY 17: Dr Gian Singh’s three books of stage plays have been released in a function organized at K L Saigal Hall here today.
The function was jointly organised by Samooh Theatre and Sanskar Bharti.
Senior Advocate D C Raina was chief guest on the occasion while D K Vaid, Dogri writer and convener Sahitya Academy, New Delhi presided over and N D Jamwal was guest of honour.
Mohan Singh, Dogri dramatist presented his research paper on the three plays of Dr Gian Singh namely Bawa Jitmal, Saa-Basaa and Bawa Kaliveer.
In his address, DC Raina congratulated Dr Gian Singh and highlighted his services for the Dogri language.
D K Vaid said writings of Dr Gian Singh will inspire the young and budding playwrights to write and contribute to their mother tongue. N D Jamwal spoke about the changing trends of stage craft and writing.
Dr Sushma Devi, Dogri scholar conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Two scenes from the play from Bawa Jitmal and Kaliveer were also enacted by the artists of Samooh Theatre which mesmerised the audience.
Earlier, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, founder Samooh Theatre, welcomed the guests.
Dr Gian Singh, former Additional Secretary JAKAACL presented vote of thanks.
President Nami Dogri Sanstha Harish Kaila and general secretary Yash Pal Yash were also present.
