Centre has given chance to ‘misled Kashmiri youth’ to shun violence: BJP Chief

Jammu, May 17: Asserting that it is not unilateral but a conditional ceasefire announced in the month of Ramzan, newly appointed Jammu and Kashmir BJP Chief Ravinder Raina on Thursday asked the ‘misled youth’ of Kashmir that the Centre has given them an opportunity to shun violence and enter the mainstream.
He however, also asked the Hizb-ul-Mujaheedin Chief Syed Salahudin to join the mainstream instead of roaming in Pakistan and parts of the World and exploiting innocent youth.
“I want to make it clear that it is not unilateral but a conditional ceasefire announced by the Centre in J&K,” Raina here told reporters at the sidelines of a reception function organized by the State BJP leadership on his arrival.
“The Union Government has given chance to those who are playing anti-social role especially in the Kashmir valley, to shun the path of violence and join the mainstream,” said the new BJP Head.
He said that when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister, he also announced ceasefire in Ramzan and asked terrorist outfits to be part of dialogue, adding, “it is a chance given by the Centre and I want that the misled youth must avail this policy of the Centre, shun violence, leave guns and join the mainstream to live a peaceful life.”
He also asked the Hizb Chief Syed Salahudin to leave gun culture and join the mainstream and if he himself claims to be a leader of Jammu and Kashmir, he should contest elections and take part in a democratic set up.
“Why are you misleading youth of Kashmir and handing over guns to them,” he said.
Raina however, also said, “we will not first open the fire but if the terrorists does, the guns of our jawans including Army, para-military forces and police will not remain silent.”
“Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh last time when visited Nowshera along the Line of Control as Pakistan heavily fired in forward villages, he had made it clear that India will not fire first but if the Pakistan will not stop, befitting reply will be given to them and we will not count our bullets,” said Raina.,
“Pakistan will have to pay the price if continue firing unprovoked and targeting our innocent civilians,” he added.
He thanked the state leadership and the party high command for reposing faith in him and asserted that he will try his best to fulfil the aspirations of the people of all the three regions Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
“The people of Jammu, popularly known as Dogra belt, is nationalist and many people have sacrificed their lives for the country while serving in belt forces and they are our pride,” he maintained.
