Extend my stay at government allotted accommodation: Bhim writes to Guv

Jammu, May 2: J&K National Panthers Party Chief Patron Bhim Singh on Wednesday in a letter addressed to the Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra has sought extension for his stay in an accommodation allotted by the State Estates Department.
Prof Singh in a letter had said that he was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and was being treated there and he is under ‘Z’ security cover in J&K.
“I have no accommodation of my own in Jammu and Kashmir or in the rest of the country. In Jammu and Kashmir I have been allotted an official quarter in Gandhinagar area, which is being used by me for my personal accommodation and office,” he said in a letter.
He said that he had cleared the rent with the Estate Department, J&K whose accommodation he have been using on market rent.
“I have been admitted in AIIMS and I was surprised that on Wednesday afternoon, I was informed that officials of Estate Department entered my house and ordered to vacate it immediately,” he added.
“I urge you that being an ex-Legislator or a political person, I am not claiming my right to life but I have been and still provided under ‘Z’ security cover and deserve accommodation for myself ,” he pleaded.
Prof Bhim said that the present accommodation was given to him on market rent by the Department, adding, “I have been paying market rent in the present accommodation. I have no house or accommodation anywhere in the country”.
“I had only an ancestral mud house in my village Bhugterian (Tehsil Ramnagar) where I was brought up that was washed away years back during the flood wrath in the village,” he claimed.
