JAMMU APR 26: As part of 29th National Road Safety Week 2018, Motor Vehicle Department today organized painting competition for school children at Kala Kendra in collaboration with Academy of Art, Culture and Languages with 92.7 Big FM as media partner. The event was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Hemant Sharma.
More than 700 students from different schools participated in the painting competition. The children were divided into three categories of 6-11 years, 12-14 years and 15-18 years. The paintings were evaluated by Prof Sanjay Sharma, Vijay Anand and Harminder Singh.
Divisional Commissioner, while interacting with students appreciated efforts of the Department in organizing the painting competition at such a mega level to inculcate the habit of Road Safety rules through tender-minds and was pleased with fine arts displayed by the young mind.
Transport Commissioner, Saugat Biswas was also present on the occasion and briefed about weeklong programme being organized by Department in connection with celebration of 29th National Road Safety Week. He lauded efforts of school management and Big 92.7, for success for the event. The Jurists, after consolidating all the paintings, declared the winners and runner in all the three categories, who would be awarded during valedictory function on 30th April 2018.
