JAMMU, APR 22: The Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday demanded representation in the state cabinet, claiming that there has been no Sikh Cabinet rank minister in the J&K government for more than a decade.
The members of various Sikh organisations held a Joint Press Conference here in Jammu in which they demanded cabinet berth for leader from this minority community in the state.
While addressing Media, they said, “We have voted for BJP so that we can get our representation in the State Government. We are thankful that Charanjeet Singh Khalsa was inducted as MLC but we feel that it is high time BJP should induct him into Cabinet so that Sikhs don’t feel that they are being neglected in BJP-PDP Government”.
