Raksha Mantri Trophy awarded to Western Command Hospital

JAMMU, APR 21: Western Command Hospital has been awarded the prestigious Raksha Mantri Trophy for the best Armed Forces Hospital for the year 2017-18 for the excellence in patient & health care services. Maj Gen Rashmi Datta, Commandant Command Hospital (Western Command) received the trophy from the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during a function organised at DGAFMS, New Delhi in presence of three service chiefs, DGAFMS, DGMS (Navy), Offg DGMS (Army), DG (HS) and ADG (HR).
Award of the coveted RM Trophy was introduced in the year 1989 and awarded every year. Seven Armed Forces Command Hospitals of three services participate in the competition and are adjudged on the basis of workload and objective parameters of, patient care and health services, amenities, ambience, documentation, logistic as per the standard set by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH). A team of eminent senior AFMS officers of three services visit each hospital to assess and choose the winner. Winner gets a silver trophy and runner up is awarded with a bronze trophy alongwith a certificate of appreciation.
