Justice Sachar’s demise great loss to, Indian Muslims, especially Kashmiris: Soz

JAMMU, APR 21: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz, has said that the demise of Justice Rajinder Sachar is a great loss to India, Indian Muslims and especially to Kashmir.
In a statement issued to media Prof Soz said, “I express my deepest sadness on the demise of Justice Rajinder Sachar, who was known as a great humanist all over the world. Throughout his long life, he remained an enthusiastic for civil liberties and human rights.
For a long time, he was the Chairman of the Council for Civil Liberties in India. He was one of the greatest sympathizers for Kashmir and their cause.
Justice Rajinder Sachar had also chaired the 9-Member Committee known as ‘Sachar Committee’ producing a comprehensive report known as ‘Sachar Commission Report’ that had proved through facts and figures that Indian Muslims were socially and economically more backward even than Dalits.
The 9-Member Committee headed by Justice Sachar had only one member from the Muslim Community and the rest 8-members happened to be the non-Muslims. These great sons of India had produced a comprehensive report for social and economic development of Indian Muslim Community.”
Soz said that the present day flawed governance in India is gathering dust and it is for the first time that Indian Muslims have no representation in the national cabinet.
It is pertinent to mention that Prof Soz visited the Sachar family in New Delhi today and offered deepest condolences to the family menbers.
