Mobile internet services snapped in Jammu after alleged sacrilegious act

Jammu, Apr 17: The mobile internet service has been snapped in three districts of Jammu region in the wake of an alleged sacrilegious act on Tuesday here on city outskirts.
“After an alleged sacrilegious act was reported in Bishnah area on city outskirts on Tuesday morning, the mobile internet service has been suspended,” an official here said.
He said that the people of village Sarore near Urban Farm in Bishnah informed the police about the incident following which protests triggered.
“Hundreds of people assembled at the site and staged demonstration seeking action against the culprits, which led to tension in the area,” said an official.
He said that the district administration has ordered immediate suspension of internet on mobiles as preventive measure in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts.
“We are verifying the matter to ascertain the facts,” said a police official.
