CJ lays foundation stone of court complex in Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH, MAR 30: Chief Justice J&K High Court Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar today laid foundation stone of new court complex in presence of Justice Ali Mohammad Magray, Administrative Judge for Doda district and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal of J&K High Court. The Chief Justice also inaugurated Free Legal Aid Clinic in BDO office Bhaderwah and distributed pension orders and prosthetic aid to beneficiaries including widows, old age persons and physically disabled persons under National Social Assistance Programme.
During interaction with the beneficiaries the visiting Justices directed the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) to visit far flung areas and identify the people who are entitled to the benefits under various schemes of the government and process their cases at appropriate forums. They also directed the Deputy Commissioner Doda to organise a training programme for the PLVs so that they are made aware of the technicalities of the schemes enabling them to further disseminate the information to the beneficiaries.
The Chief Justice (Acting) also inaugurated a Legal Literacy Club in Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Bhaderwah and interacted with the students of the school. The justice encouraged the students to study the Constitution of India and know about the rights of the children especially the students. The Chief Justice also asked the students to avail scholarships for higher studies abroad.
On his visit to the Court Complex Bhaderwah, the Chief Justice inaugurated E-Kiosk and inspected the working of the courts. He issued directions to the judicial officers to dispose off the old cases relating to senior citizens expeditiously.
While interacting with the bar members, the Justices said that advocates have an important role to play in the justice delivery system and the ultimate goal must be to make justice available to the common people. They said that the genuine demands of the Bar shall be redressed shortly.
Registrar General High Court, Sanjay Dhar; Principal Secretary to the CJ, Jawad Ahmed; Member Secretary J&K SLSA, RN Watal; Principal District & Sessions Judge Bhaderwah, MK Sharma; Law Secretary, Abdul Majid; DC Doda, Bhawani Rakwal and a large number of senior citizens were present during all the three programmes of stone laying, inauguration of Free Legal Aid Clinic and Legal Literacy club.
