Jammu, Mar 17: Former Minister and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Chairman Harsh Dev Singh on Saturday alleged that he alongwith his wife was attacked by the goons of BJP.
“The goons of BJP assaulted me and my wife when I was on the way to conduct public meetings in Ramnagar,” Singh told reporters.
The Panthers Party however, have demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants and action under law
He disclosed that on Friday evening the reliable sources had intimated him that he would be vulnerable to the physical assault by the BJP goons if he toured his constituency on Saturday. “Taking a precautionary measure, I had promptly intimated SSP, Udhampur about the devious plans of the opposition and requested him to provide him security at various places where he was supposed to conduct his meetings,” said Singh.
“When we were on the way to Ramnagar, BJP workers and activists had blocked the road at Khu Nallah, a place 15 kms before Ramnagar, with no presence of SHO and other police personnel on the spot and they attacked us with weapons, claimed the Panthers Party leader.
“We sustained injuries during the assault. The miscreants raised anti-Panthers party slogans and threatened me to stop raising voice against the BJP or else he would face dire consequences,” he asserted.
However, JKNPP leaders have demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants and action against them otherwise Panther Party shall intensify their agitation against the policy of suppression adopted by the BJP to quell the voice of the people.
