Kashmir Sikh Sangat alleges blatant discrimination against Sikhs

JAMMU, MAR 13: Kashmir Sikh Sangat has alleged that Sikh Community of J&K in general and particularly in Kashmir Valley is being subjected to blatant discrimination especially by ignoring them in matters of employment. The allegations were levelled during a press conference held by the organization here today.
Addressing media persons, the Kashmir Sikh Sangat spokesperson said that the Sikh Community has been ignored completely by present as well as pervious Government in employment. He said that the glaring example of present dispensation is issuance of SRO No: 425 of 10th Oct. 2017 where in the PM’s employment package has been provided to Kashmiri Pandits living in the valley, but the Sikh youths who are living under similar hostile conditions have been ignored. He pleaded that Sikh Community living in Kashmir Valley be included in the Package as it is violation of Article 124 of the constitution of India.
He demanded that the Sikh Community being in micro minority in the state be provided 3% reservation in Govt jobs and State Minority Commission be constituted at the earliest so that they can avail benefits meant for the minorities under constitution. The demand of giving due representation to the community in the state cabinet and legislative assembly was also raised during the press conference.
