Jammu, Mar 8: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has allegedly turned down the CBI probe demand of its alliance partner BJP in Kathua murder case of an eight year old girl asserting that enquiry is almost complete.
“The BJP ministers delegation on Thursday met the Chief Minister and raised various issues including of Kathua murder case, appointment of Additional Deputy Commissioner in four areas of Rajouri district,” Bali Bhagat, Health Minister here told reporters.
He said that on Kathua murder case, the Chief Minister had said that the investigation into the case is almost complete and in a day or two the Crime Branch wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police will submit the chargesheet in the Court and the Challan will be presented.
However, over 100 persons were detained and several injured in Chadwal area of Kathua district who were protesting in demand of handing over of Asifa murder case to the CBI claiming that innocents were being harassed.
On January 23, seven days of her missing, minor girl’s body was in village Rasana of Hiranagar following which the Jammu and Kashmir government had handed over the case to the Crime Branch in which four persons including the policemen were arrested.
Meanwhile on demand of appointment of ADCs in Kotranka, Nowshera, Sunderani and Kalakote tehsils of Rajouri for which locals were protesting for the past one-month, the Minister said, “after meeting with the Chief Minister it was decided that the ADC will be available on rotational basis in these areas.”
One ADC will look after Kotranka and Kalakote areas and will look after weekly on rotational basis and similar exercise will be done for Nowshera and Sunderbani areas, said the Minister.
Meanwhile BJP MLA from Nowshera Ravinder Raina has slammed the government for previously appointing ADC only in Kotranka area without cabinet meeting.
“I am hurt and depressed with the decision. The government should have either clubbed all the four areas and announced a district or should have appointed ADCs in all the tehsils,” said Mr Raina.
He however, also rued the decision of appointment of ADCs on rotational basis saying that the slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vikas’ has been shattered by the government.
