J&K situation is worst: Farooq

JAMMU: National Conference President and former Union Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that situation in the entire Jammu and Kashmir is worst. “Situation of Kashmir is worst. I say that the situation in the entire state is even worse,” Dr Abdullah told reporters here this evening during his visit to the office of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu. He said, “the way we are diving on religion lines, it is a matter of challenge.” On Congress’s defeat in NorthEast Assembly Polls under Rahul Gandhi’s presidentship, Dr Abdullah said, “I don’t think he (Rahul Gandhi) has failed. Give him time. He has just become the president. So it is not his defeat. Give him time with the organisation.” On NC in coalition with UPA earlier and its future course of action with Congress party, the National Conference stalwart said, “woh admi hi kya jo hawa ke saath badalta rahe. There’s a saying that rolling stone gathers no moss.” However, on revival of Congress party he said, “any party has a revival chance if it works for the people, good of the people.” On Pakistani Army Chief’s Germany visit wherein he had said that their soil is not used for terrorist related activities, Dr Abdullah said, “they (terrorists) have always been coming and will continue to come unless we find a solution with the Pakistan.” “If you think there is any other solution other than dialogue please tell me,” said Dr Abdullah. Earlier speaking at a programme “The Way Forward” launched by Jammu Chamber, Dr Abdullah pledged to continue taking along all the three regions together and also appealed to the Chamber Members present on the occasion that they need wise voices like Jammu Chamber so that the evil designs of the vested forces could be defeated.
