JAMMU: Governor N. N. Vohra, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh besides others have greeted the people on Holi.
In his message the Governor N. N. Vohra has hoped that the festival of colours would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the celebration of festivals, a valuable part of our rich cultural heritage, strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and amity. He expressed the hope that this Holi would spread happiness and joy all around and promote harmony.
Wishing a happy Holi to the people, Governor prayed for their well-being and prosperity.
Felicitating people of the State on Holi, popularly known as the festival of colours Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti hoped the festival to be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity for the people.
The Chief Minister said Jammu & Kashmir is an abode of rich cultural heritage and values and celebrating such festivals strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and amity in the State.
Mehbooba Mufti prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people on the occasion.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh in his message of felicitations said that the festival forms an important part of the festivals, which hold a special place in our cultural milieu as it is celebrated by every community and section of society.
He further prayed for the well-being of people on occasion and hoped that the festival of colours would usher peace and prosperity in our state.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah have greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Holi, expressing the hope that the festival would usher in peace and prosperity in the State.
In their messages, Dr Abdullah and Omar Abdullah also hoped the festival would strengthen the bonds of amity and harmony among the people.
Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana has also greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Holi. He said the festival gives a message of social harmony and hoped that Holi will be celebrated in true spirit of the state’s glorious ethos.
The J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir extending greetings to people on the auspicious occasion of Holi prayed for wellbeing and prosperity of the people.
Stating that Holi is a unique festival, Mir hoped that the occasion will usher in an era of development, peace and prosperity in the State.
He said festivals are important part of our composite culture of unity and diversity, he added that these will continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship and amity among the people irrespective of religion or region.
Meanwhile Inspector General of Police Dr. S. D. Singh -IPS greeted people of Jammu region, the martyr’s families, Police personnel and their families on the auspicious occasion of Holi Festival.
In his message, Dr. Singh extended warm greetings and good wishes to the people from all walks of life on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Holi -the festival of colours.
“May the noble ideals of the festival prevail and usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives,” he said.
Dr. Singh also extends HOLI greeting to all journalists from Print, electronic Media and their families.
In his message he conveyed that “I am personally grateful for all your co-operation and support in maintenance of peace, order and harmony and many other initiatives taken by Jammu Police.
