Terrorist hideout busted in Poonch

Jammu: Security forces on Monday busted a terrorist hideout and recovered cache of arms and ammunition in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“In two separate joint search operations, teams of Army and State Police busted a major cache of weapons, ammunition and other war like stores in Haribudha and Bhatidhar forests in Poonch district,” defence spokesman here said.
He said that acting on a specific input regarding presence of arms cache, a joint search operation by Rashtriya Rifles and Police was launched in the area during which a hideout was busted.
During search, two Pistols, grenades of various types including Rocket Propelled grenades and UBGL grenades, communication equipment, GPS, IEDs/Explosives, ammunition of AK 47 and other war like stores were recovered, he said.
The spokesman said that currency worth Rs 50,000 was also found at the site of recovery.
“This successful operation has foiled the nefarious designs of terrorists and inimical elements who are continuously intending to vitiate prevalent security environment in both Poonch and Rajouri Districts,” he said.
