Governor releases ‘Goonj’

JAMMU, FEB 14: Governor N N Vohra released ‘Goonj’, a compilation of poems written by Ramesh Arora, Member Legislative Council, during a function held at Raj Bhavan here today.
Arora has dedicated this book to the memory of his son, who passed away at a young age in 2016. The poems in the book reflect author’s perspectives on various socio-political and contemporary issues and his life’s experiences as a social and political worker.
Haji Inayat Ali, Chairman Legislative Council and Sat Sharma, MLA, also spoke on the occasion and expressed their views on Arora’s book.
Appreciating Arora’s endeavour in writing about his life’s experiences in meaningful verses, the Governor observed that it would be beneficial, if more and more persons, working in the political arena wrote about their experiences. He urged the Legislators and other dignitaries present on the occasion to work vigorously towards restoration of sustained peace and harmony in the State.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Naresh Gupta, Ashok Khajuria, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Charanjeet Khalsa, Vikram Randhawa (Legislators); Abdul Majid Bhat, Secretary Law and Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu.
