Kakar is new SP Central Jail, Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed Mukesh Kumar Kakar as the new Superintendent of Central Jail, Srinagar, replacing Hilal Ahmad Rather who was suspended after a Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) self-styled commander Naveed Jatta, a Pakistan resident, escaped from a hospital, where two policemen, escorting detenues, were killed by militants on February 6. An order issued by Principal Secretary, Home department, R K Goyal said that the services of Additional Superintendent of Police (Add SP) Police Component, Anantnag, Kakar, are placed at the disposal of the Prisons Department with immediate effect. ”Consequent upon the above, Kakar is posted as Superintendent, Central jail, Srinagar,” the order said.
