GCW organizes workshop on ‘Research Methodology’

JAMMU, JAN 30: A three-day National workshop on Research Methodology, organized by the Govt College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu begins today. Dr Asagar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary to Govt, Higher Education Department was the Chief Guest on the occasion and inaugurated the workshop while Dr Zahoor Ahmad Chatt, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department was the Guest of Honour. Prof Richa Tanwar, the key-note speaker from Kurukshetra University and other Principals from different Colleges of J&K were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Prof Hemla Aggarwal said that Dr Samoon, a revered personality has always shown great interest in research activities and encouraged teaching faculty of colleges to involve in research activities. She further said that research in today’s education system is very necessary to help teachers for developing requisite knowledge and skills.
While addressing gathering, Dr Asagar Hassan Samoon stressed upon the teaching faculty to work hard and evolve a smart work culture for betterment of student community. He said that we should contribute in a positive manner to make our educational institutions at par with the International standard.
Dr Zahoor Ahmad Chatt said that such workshop is very useful to train researchers in various aspects of research like selection of topic, formulation of hypothesis, collection of data and statistical tools etc.
