Targeting civilians is cowardly act of Pakistan: Dy CM

JAMMU: Against the backdrop of heavy shelling along the international border Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Friday termed targeting of civilians by the Pakistan as coward act. “We condemn this coward act of Pakistan of targeting innocent civilians on the border,” Dr Singh here told reporters. He said that so far three civilians have been killed and a BSF jawan got martyred while 17 people have been injured in the cross border firing on the border in two days. “Our teams of doctors, police and administration are on job and providing all required relief to the firing victims,” said the Deputy Chief Minister and added that ministers are also visiting to the border villages to issue directions to the administration so that all help can be made available to them. “Pakistan is not only coward but is also a terrorist country,” he added and said that they (Pakistan) believe in violence. They are living fool’s paradise. “Our troops are giving befitting reply to the Pakistan and as per reports they have suffered a heavy damage across,” said Dr Singh. On NC Working President Omar Abdullah demanding talks between India and Pakistan to normalise border situation, Dr Singh said, “we are fighting a proxy war and for this everyone should come forward and join hands for a cause but they are issuing such statements only focusing vote bank politics.” “This approach of theirs has led to this situation either within Kashmir or on the borders,” he asserted.
