JAMMU, JAN 12: To discuss the security arrangements required to be made for the celebration of Republic Day-2018, IGP Jammu Zone, Jammu Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal-IPS held a meeting with the officers of intelligence agencies, Army/BSF/CRPF/Armed/Distt Police and Civil Administration at Conference Hall, Police Control Room, Jammu.
He stressed upon all the officers that proper briefing be given to the officers/officials deployed for Republic Day duties in view of the present security scenario in the state and continuous ceasefire violations from across the border on IB/LOC. He stressed upon all the participants for effective and coordinated efforts at grass root level for smooth conduct of the national event. He further advised that adequate security arrangements be made in and around the M.A stadium, venue of Republic Day function. He advised the officers that census of the inhabitants residing in and around the M.A stadium, checking of hotels and other lodgments be undertaken on priority. Dr. Singh further directed all the intelligence agencies including SSP Jammu to activate their all resources available with them to generate intelligence having bearing on Republic Day-2018 in advance so that anti-national and anti-social elements could not succeed in their nefarious designs.
On the border management front, IGP Jammu Zone, stressed upon the DIG JSK Range and District SSP Jammu to lay Joint Nakas on all the infiltration routes. Night patrolling on National Highway be conducted. Any input related to infiltration be disseminated with all concerned on real time basis. All Border Police Stations/ Police Posts, VDC’s be strengthened and proper briefing be given to them by district SSsP/ASP/SDOPs concerned regularly regarding nature of duties to be performed by them, he said.
He further said that a proper co-ordination be maintained among all the intelligence agencies, Army, PMF, Traffic and Security wing in their respective areas of jurisdiction to foil the nefarious designs of ANEs and ensure smooth and incident free conduct of the national event.
