SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah expressed pain over the killing of four personnel of state police in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast at apple township of Sopore in Baramulla district on Saturday. Mufti tweeted, “Pained to hear that four policeman have been killed in an IED explosion in Sopore. My deepest condolences to their families”. Abdullah also tweeted and said, “Very sad news from #Sopore. May the four brave J&K police personnel killed in the line of duty today rest in peace”. Four police personnel were killed when militants triggered an IED beneath a shop at Shalapora lane, Sopore on Saturday morning. Meanwhile Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has strongly condemned the Sopore IED blast in which four police jawans lost their lives today. Dr Singh said such heinous incidents are handiwork of the forces trying to disrupt peaceful environs of the state by carrying out these types of violent activities. While expressing sympathies with the families of the martyred jawans he prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
