DC reviews R-day arrangements at Doda

DODA, Jan 4: To review the arrangements for celebration of Republic Day 2018, a meeting of the district officers was convened by District Development Commissioner Bhawani Rakwal in the meeting hall of Dc office complex here today.
It was decided that the main function of R-Day will be be held at sports stadium where the VIP shall unfurl the National Flag and take salute of the March Past.
In case of inclement weather the main function of R-Day will be held at District Police Lines.
Contingents drawn from JKP. JKAP, CRPF, FPF,NCC and various government and private schools will take part in the march past.
DC exhorted upon all agencies to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time for smooth and successful celebration of the Republic Day.
It was decided that as per the past practice the day shall start with the playing of Shenai Wadan. After the flag hoisting and parade ceremony, cultural items on patriotic and nationalistic themes shall be presented by the students of various government and private schools.
DCC directed municipal committee Doda to intensify the sanitation drive and make the town beautiful by illuminating government buildings and the main venue. It was also decided that full dress rehearsal shall be held of January 24.
ASP Vinay Kumar, Dy.SP Nazir A. Ganai, CPO Youginder Katoch, ACR Tariq Hussain, ACD Akhter Hussain Qazi, Principlas of various schools and other district officers attended the meeting.
In yet another meeting the DDC reviewed the functioning of Revenue department in which Regional Director Surveys and Land Record Chenab Circle Mohammad Hanief Malik, ADC Bhaderwah Imam Din, ACR Tariq Hussain Naik, SDMs and Tehsildars participated.
The DC gave directions for completion of writing of Jamabandies and attestation of mutations within the time frame prescribed under PSG Act. Tehsildars were directed to complete writing of Girdawari Registers. Besides, all revenue officers were directed for making progress in eviction of unauthorised occupants of state, common and Kahcharai land. The DC also impressed upon the officers not to leave the station in view of ongoing Legislative session.
