Cash for job racket busted by Jammu Police, 3 arrested

Jammu, Jan 3: Police on Wednesday arrested three persons and busted a fake job Racket, police spokesman here said.
He said that the arrested persons had duped people in the name of providing Government Jobs against heavy Cash Payments siphoning crores of rupees from them.
On Wednesday morning, a complaint was received from one Shanker Singh, resident of Sharika Vihar, Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu that he along with 21 persons have been duped by five men of Rs 1.20 crore on the promise of providing Government Jobs.
The complainant further said that the appointment letters provided of different Government offices by the accused persons were proved to be fake, police said.
They said that a case was registered investigation started wherein it was found that the appointment letters with government logos, appointment orders etc were fake.
“A special investigation team was formed and during investigation it was revealed that more persons from different part of state were involved in the scam who duped dozens of other un-employed youths,” said police.
These persons worked as motivators who would entice gullible un-employed youths for Government jobs against huge sum of money. Meanwhile five persons identified as Ajay Bali, resident of H No. 283, Sharika Vihar Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu, Mohammad Ayoub Sheikh, resident of Harnag Khannebal Anantnag, Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh, resident of Chambgund Kulgam, Kashmir, Mohammad Yousif Bhat, resident of Sangam, Kashmir and Prithivi Singh, resident of Seri Ramban were arrested. “After receiving the money the accused used to pose themselves as Politicians, Secretariat employees and J&K bank officials,” police said adding that the candidate after paying money would receive appointment letters particularly in J&K Bank and other govt. departments.
Many lower rung government, bank officials are also believed to be involved in the scam, they added.
