Smuggling bid foiled, 11 bovines rescued

SAMBA: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling launched by District Police Samba under the directions of SSP Samba, Anil Magotra KPS a police party of PS Ghagwal today during early morning hours, foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 11 bovines.
According to police, a police party of PS Ghagwal headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal under close supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Samba, Deepak Digra, when tried to intercept a vehicle bearing registration No: JK02AH- 5977 coming from Kathua side, the driver on seeing the police party accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot. But on being chased by the Police, the driver abandoned the vehicle at NHW Jatwal and escaped from the spot. During checking of the vehicle was found laden with 11 bovines which were being transported illegally without any permission. The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized on spot. In this regard a case FIR No: 02/2018 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation is going on.
