Mankotia discusses separate Jammu state issue with Union MoS VK Singh

NEW DELHI, DEC 29: Former MLA and NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia today called on Union External Affairs Minister of state VK Singh and discussed various issues related to Jammu and Kashmir particularly separate Jammu state issue and continuous discrimination against the youth of Jammu in government jobs. He also criticized the behaviour and disrespect shown with the mother of Kulbhushan Jadhav during his Pakistan visit.
While discussing the issue of separate Jammu state with Union Minister of External affairs VK Singh, ex-MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia said it’s unfortunate that after the formation of PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir, educated youth of Jammu region are facing discrimination on a large scale getting a paltry 10 to 20 percent.
Citing the example of recently advertized posts of 2000 teachers in state for which selection process has started, he said it’s strange that only 290 posts have been given to Jammu region while 86 percent share has been given to Kashmir region while Jammu gets only 14 percent share in recently advertized posts. Continuous decline in government jobs have forced the people and educated youth of Jammu region to raise the separate Jammu state demand and this discrimination can be ended only after the formation of separate Jammu state.
There are many such examples which can prove the discriminatory attitude of the coalition government and to end this biased approach and central government should constitute post of separate Chief Minister for Kashmir and separate CM for Jammu region with the same Governor as in case of Punjab and Haryana.
