Tasaduq resigns as Coordinator of J&K CM’s Grievance cell

SRINAGAR, Dec 15: Tasaduq Mufti on Friday resigned from the post of Coordinator of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s Grievance cell. A spokesperson for ruling PDP said Mufti tendered his resignation from the post of J&K Chief Minister’s Grievance cell to the Chief Secretary, J&K Government. The resignation of Mufti, who is the brother of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, strengthens the rumour that he will soon be given a berth in the Legislative Council and also given a place in the state Cabinet. According to PDP sources, 45-year-old Tassaduq Mufti is expected to get the tourism portfolio. A cinematographer by profession, Tassaduq Mufti holds a Masters degree in Fine Arts from the American Center. He is also the the brain behind a five-minute short-film on the state’s tourism department. Tassaduq Mufti is expected to be nominated to the legislative council for a seat that fell vacant after the resignation of Vikramaditya Singh, the grandson of the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, sources said adding that all formalities to nominate him to the council had been completed.
