Rail service suspended yet again in Kashmir for security reasons

Srinagar, Dec 8: All train runs were again suspended for security reasons in the Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for protests after Friday prayers against the US move to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
”We have suspended train service following advisory received from the police,” a railway official said.
He said no train will run from Srinagar-Badgam in the central Kashmir to Baramulla in north.
”Similarly, trains will not chug on Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir Banihal in Jammu region track,” he added.
Hundreds of passengers who arrived at different railway stations this morning were disappointed after they were informed that rail service has been suspended in the Valley.
”We cannot help passengers since the decision by the police was taken for the security and safety of passengers and railway property,” he added.
This is for the 46th time train service has been suspended partially or fully in the Valley for security reasons during this year.
Last year the rail service was suspended for about six months due to summer unrest in the Valley.
