Int’l Day for persons with disabilities observed

GJ REPORT PULWAMA, DEC 7: A function was organized by Chief Education Office Pulwama today to observe ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’ at Town Hall Pulwama. On the occasion, ADC Pulwama, CEO Pulwama, other concerned officers and a large number of students participated in the event. While addressing the function, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Showkat Ahmad Rather said that the importance of the Day is to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities. On the occasion, CEO Pulwama said the day is marked to encourage a better understanding of people affected by disability, to make people more aware of the rights, dignity and welfare of disabled persons. Earlier, a rally was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner from Central Boys High School to Town Hall Pulwama in which students carrying placards participated.
