Woman drug peddler among 7 arrested with heroin in Samba, Jammu

Jammu, Dec 6: At least seven narcotic smugglers including a woman drug peddler were arrested with contraband of heroin in Jammu and Samba districts of the region.
Police on Tuesday night during a naka checking at Balole Bridge in Bari Brahmana area intercepted a car (CH03W-0475) and during checking recovered 13.6 grams of heroin from the possession of a lady drug peddler namely Dimple Devi, resident of Rakh, Arnia, Jammu.
The lady accused and his associate namely Gurdeep Singh of Pandat Sant Ram Wali Street, Mehna Chowk, Zeerath, Bathinda, Punjab were arrested on the spot.
A case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
Meanwhile in another incident, Police during a surprise nakka checking at Reore Chowk in Bari Brahmana, intercepted a scooter (JK02N-0488) and seven grams of heroin from the possession of two drug peddlers.
Arrested persons were identified as Sitaar Hussain, Dil Mohammad, both residents of Sector D, Extension Deeli, Sainik Colony Jammu.
However, police also arrested three persons on Wednesday during checking at Kulian in Miran Sahib area on city outskirts stopped a car but the driver tried to escape from the spot.
Alert Cops managed to stop the car in which three persons were sitting and on their personal search, 46 Grams of Heroin was recovered.
However, a case under relevant sections was registered and investigations started.
