Dy CM, Army Commander review security scenario

Srinagar, Dec 6: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today called for greater synergy among law enforcing agencies to thwart any possible security situation in the State.
Speaking at a meeting convened to discuss the security scenario in Kashmir, the Deputy Chief Minister lauded the role of security agencies for their role in maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.
Singh directed the officers to be extra vigilant to prevent any untoward incident. He said that the police have been on the forefront of maintenance of peaceful environs and other people-friendly initiatives.
The meeting, among others, was attended by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Muneer Ahmad Khan, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, SSP Security among other officers Later, the officers also gave a detailed feedback to the Deputy Chief Minister about various developments in the region.
Meanwhile Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen. D Anbu, today reviewed the security situation in the Kashmir valley and commended the forces for their efforts to restore peace in the state, an official said.
“On a visit to Kashmir today, Lt Gen. Anbu took a review of the security situation in the valley,” the army official added.
The Commander-in-Chief of Northern Command of the Army commended all ranks of the force for their dedication, professionalism and efforts to restore peace in Kashmir, he said.
