JAMMU, DEC 3: A one day Seerat-Un-Nabi Conference (SAWS) was held here today at Central Eid-Gah, Residency Road under the banner of Anjuman- Islah-Ul-Muslimeen, Jammu. The programme was spread over three sessions. The 1st session was held from 10.30 A.M to 1.30 P.M, 2nd from 2.30 P.M to 4.00 P.M and 3rd from 6.00 Pm to 8.30 P.M.
The 1st session was presided over by Naib Mohtamim Jamia Zia-Ul -Uloom, Poonch, Maulana Syed Ahmed Habib. Mufti Mohd Anwar Khan from Bombay and Maulana Syed Arshad Nadvi from Srinagar participated in the 2nd session.
The Programme started with recitation of holy Quran by Qari Farooq Ahmed followed by Naat by Maulana Noor Din Qasmi. The key-note address was delivered by Maulana Safdar Baqiri, a faculty of Jamiat-ul-Muntazir, Nowgama Sadat, District Amroha (U.P). Maulana Safdar Hussain Baqiri delivered a thought provoking discourse on the teaching and life of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS). He said that the life of Prophet teaches us the lesson to adopt Islam in real and practical sense. He further said that Islam stands for quality and not for quantity. He highlighted the character of Muslim in the light of message of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) and said that to sacrifice self-interest for the collective interest is the teaching of Islam by Prophet.
The second important speaker was Maulana Abdul Subhan Batkali Nadvi who is a faculty member of Zia-Ul-Uloom, Maidanpur Takia Raebareli (U.P). In his thought provoking speech he said that this is the high time for the multifarious aspects of the life of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) are required to be highlighted.
Speaker J&K Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Ex-Minister Gulchain Singh Charak and Rajesh Gupta MLA Jammu East also participated and graced the occasion by their participation in the programme. They also expressed their gratitude for holding such a programme. The speaker and MLA said that such programmes help in bringing us together and remove misunderstandings.
