SF burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators in south Kashmir

GJ REPORT
Srinagar, Dec 1: Security forces burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse demonstrators pelting stones in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
The trouble started immediately after Friday prayers were over at Anantnag when people, particularly youths, hit the streets raising separatist slogans. However, when the demonstrators were moving towards the main chowk from Eidgah, security forces and state police personnel stopped them.
Security forces resorted to lathicharge when the demonstrators pelted stones. However, when the demonstrators refused to disperse and disrupted traffic movement, security forces burst teargas shells.
Business and other activities were disrupted for several hours due to clashes. The clashes took place two days after government ordered withdrawal of cases against more than 4300 first time stone pelters in the valley.
