Shiksha Niketan School celebrates Children’s Day

JAMMU, NOV 14: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School celebrated Children’s Day in its school premises here today.
In this connection, a function was organised wherein former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadotra was the chief guest.
During the function, rich tributes were paid to Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister on his 129th birthday.
The main attraction of the function was the Bal Mela creating the atmosphere of a market fair.
The other dignitaries of sister concern of Shiksha Niketan were also invited as the guests. The school was decorated by the handmade creative materials depicting the theme ‘Child labour’.
The Mela was inaugurated by the chief guest Ajay Sadotra and Principal of the school.
The programme commenced with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by the welcome dance by the students of Primary wing. A skit was presented by the students of Middle and High Wing of the school. The teachers of Primary Middle and High Wing also presented a dance item. There was arrangement for the talent hunt games in which the students of all the classes participated. The students enjoyed the Mela thereby singing, dancing and playing different games. Later the winners were presented prizes.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Sadotra appreciated the school for its achievements and also encouraged the students to carry on with same spirit and creativity.
He also appreciated the management of the school for organising such programmes which boost the children to come up with new talents.
School Principal Rameshwar Mengi threw light on the importance of the day and also praised the students for their efforts and the concerned House teams of the school for making the programme successful.
