Ranjit finds berth in selection penal of HFI

JAMMU, Nov 14: Celebrity Handball player of the country, Ranjeet Singh of Jammu and Kashmir has been included as member in the Selection Committee of the Handball Federation of India (HFI) during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held a Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh recently.
The order of appointment was issued by general secretary of the HFI, Anandeshwar Panday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and former India captain, Ranjeet has a long list of achievements to his credit as a player. Awarded with best player of the decade by state association, Ranjeet was presented with Rs one lakh cash prize and gold medal by the J&K Governor after he was declared best sports person.
Outstanding and ever produced left back in the country, Ranjit started his international career in the year 1986 when he represented the country in Nepal. He first captained the Indian team in the 7th Asian Handball Championship held at Bahrain in 1993.
Meanwhile, former National Handball coach, J S Soodan of J&K has also been given the important assignment when he was named advisor of the HFI.
Earlier, during the AGM, Inspector General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Rama Subramani , Anandeshwar Pandey and Pritpal Singh Saluja were unanimously elected as president, secretary general and treasurer of the HFI.
