Rajouri Administration gets illegally occupied official quarters vacated

Rajouri, Nov 14: In a major move against illegal holders of government quarters district administration today got them vacated, official here said.
District administration took action against own officials, who held government quarters illegally, after repeated requests to vacate them in due course of time.
Sources revealed that some officials had sublet their occupied quarters on rent to other persons who illegally stayed in the quarters with their families.
Pertinent to mention that district administration acting on complaints constituted a committee comprising of PWD, PHE and Revenue department verified the facts of complaints and submitted a detailed report to concerned office along with lists of defaulters.
“We have prepared a list of such officials who have sublet their quarters to other persons and stern action will be taken against them in due course of time,” said an official.
He said that set frame of time was allotted to officials to vacate their illegal quarters but no action was observed.
Sources however, said that many former politicians have also illegally occupied government quarters but crackdown will soon be launched to vacate such accommodations.
Worth to mention here that vacated quarters are in possession of government officials, who are either local or posted outside district and have their own private houses too in the town.
“They have held the quarter to further sublet them on rent,” sources added.
“We are in acute shortage of government quarters in the district and no deviation will be allowed in this act of vacating quarters,” said DC Rajouri Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
He further added that legal action was taken against officials who were found indulged in such illegal activities.
