REASI, NOV 14: The officers and officials of Labour department led by Assistant Labour Commissioner, Aamir Choudhary organised a week long extensive awareness programme in various far flung areas of the district to spread massive awareness on welfare schemes of state and central government. The camps witnessed large gathering of labourers, building workers, construction workers, contractors and employers. The main camp was held at Kouri Kanthan where the labourers working with railways construction companies were educated on welfare schemes run by building and construction welfare board. The employers of companies were also sensitised on safety norms and mandatory amenities to be provided to the workers. An inspection of record and returns under various labour laws was also conducted. Similar camps were also at held at Shajroo, Bathoi, Jamaslan, Mahore and other far flung areas of the district. Forms for multifaceted assistance were also distributed among the participants. During the camps, the experts highlighted schemes and development programmes of the government besides educating the labourers about their rights and their protection. ALC Aamir Choudhary while interacting with the construction workers and labourers advised them to avail maximum benefits of government schemes meant for their welfare.
