Nitish differs with Farooq’s opinion

PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today disapproved the suggestion of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah that Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) should be given to Pakistan for a permanent solution to long pending Jammu and Kashmir problem, causing border tension between the two countries.
Kumar told media persons here that Pakistan occupied Kashmir was also an integral part of India and there should not be any doubt over it. Entire Jammu and Kashmir including the areas occupied by Pakistan was part of India and it would continue to be so, he remarked.
The Chief Minister reacting over suggestion of Mr Abdullah to hand over Pakistan occupied Kashmir to Pakistan for finding a permanent solution to Jammu and Kashmir, said in democratic set up, everyone had right to air his opinion.
As it is, Abdullah had said few days back that Pakistan occupied Kashmir should be handed over to Pakistan for a permanent solution of perenial disputes of Jammu and Kashmir as a number of wars on the issue between India and Pakistan would not yield any result.
He had also rejected the theory of Independent Jammu and Kashmir, saying it was not possible as the area was land locked by three nuclear powers including India, Pakistan and China. (Agencies)
