BLO’s Training on ERO-NET commences

Kathua, Nov 8: A Two-day training programme on ERO-Net for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Kathua district commenced here today.
During the session, the participants are being imparted training on online processing of forms through ERO-Net ,role of BLOs in the process and functionalities provided by ERO-Net like ERs management, polling stations management, electoral services and information on ER entries that electors and citizens can avail through ERO-Net.
Deputy District Election Officer Chand Kishore Sharma said that the ECI in its initiative of ERO -NET has rolled out measures to fine-tune the electoral rolls ,provide error-free EPIC cards to voters, lessening paper work as correct form filled at the entry level will be accepted through the system.
It was further informed that BLO’s of all five assembly segment in the district, 63- Bani, 64-Basohli ,65-Kathua 66-Billawar, 67-Hirangar and left out BLO’s of Kathua assembly segments will be covered in the two days programme.
The training with its interactive session was conducted through video and power-point presentations.
Submission date for scholarship forms extended

JAMMU, NOV 8: As per the official communiqué from Director Tribal Affairs J&K, the last date for submission of application forms under Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes to Scheduled Tribe students has been extended to November 15th , 2017.
Students are advised to fill the application forms after checking their eligibilities as already notified.
MLC kick starts development works

POONCH, NOV 8: Member Legislative Council Pradeep Sharma inaugurated the protection works on basement of Khalsa Chowk Gurdwara Sahib taken up to check erosion due to heavy rains and flashfloods , here today. The MLC was accompanied by prominent persons of the area . While speaking on the occasion, he said that guiding mantra “Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas”for inclusive and holistic development of all by the government has made a qualitative differences in the lives of the people.
MLC further said that for transformation and development of Poonch town developmental works on roads, lanes , drains, street flood lights and required protection works are underway.
Power shutdown

JAMMU, NOV 8: In order to carry out the erection of 66/11 KV, 1×6.3 MVA Transformer and dismantling of 66/11 KV, 1×10 MVA Transformer at 66/11 KV R/Stn Hatlimore, the shutdown of 66 KV Industry Feeder and 66/11 KV R/Station Hatlimorh-I is being observed.
During the shutdown, the power supply to CTM, SICOP, SIDCO, MES-Janglote, Patel Nagar, Ram Nagar, Shiva Nagar, Kalibari, Hatlimorh, Taranagar, Govinsar, DC Office Complex, Shastri Nagar, Ward No. 06, Ward No. 07 and its adjoining areas shall remain affected on November 09 from 10 am to 4 pm.
