Celebrate Accession Day with zeal, vigour: JPPF

GJ REPORT
JAMMU, OCT 25: Emphasizing upon significance of Accession Day, Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF) has urged locals to participate enmass in celebration of the auspicious day on October 27, 2017 besides celebrating it as a festival by lighting lamps and hoisting tri-colour on houses.
While addressing a joint Press Conference here today, President JPPF, Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj; President State Gurudawara Parbandhak Committee, Trilochan Singh Wazir; Secretary General Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Munish Gupta; President, Chamber of Traders Federation, Neeraj Anand; Vice-president Bar Association Jammu, Sachin Gupta; General Secretary, Prem Sadotra; Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal and President Shri Amar Kashtriya Rajput Sabha, Narayan Singh said that the main purpose behind holding the Press Conference, a day earlier, was to create awareness among masses and spread message to one and all to celebrate the accession day in unison on October 27 as it was the day when the accession, duly signed by the late Maharaja Hari Singh, was accepted by the Governor General of India, Lord Mountbatten which became full, final and irrevocable. The celebration has become more important in view of the fact that some Kashmir centric politicians had questioned authenticity of the accession and termed it a merger only and not final. The acceptance by the then Governor General of India was under provision of Indian Independence Act 1947, which bore no conditions. No further document was required for merger as questioned by some Pak sponsored elements.
