LEH, OCT 21: Ladakh Tseschu Tsogspa Leh demanded payment of pending compensation.
“It is deplorable that a large number of people whose land had come under the project for alignment of various road constructions have not received compensation for their land and trees for decades,” a press release issued here today said. Most of the roads have been black topped and thrown open for vehicular traffic and it is sheer injustice that despite passage of long time, the compensation not having been paid in this regard. There is every apprehension of blocking the roads b the people in protest against the concerned authorities for not making payments.
It is high time to ensure speedy disbursal of compensation to avoid any poignant situation, the release said. Tseschu Tsogspa has written to the concerned authorities requesting for obtaining details of pending land compensation from the concerned departments and clear the long pending compensation cases during the current financial year. The said compensation should be paid by debit to the miscellaneous advance of the defaulter drawing and disbursing officers without further loss of time, the handout added.
