Soldier, porter martyred, 6 injured in Pak firing in KG Sector of Poonch

Jammu, Oct 12: An Army jawan and a civilian porter today got martyred and six others got injured as Pakistani Army initiated unprovoked firing in Krishna Ghati Sector along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in Krishna Ghati sector at around 1035 hours today while Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively,” defence spokesman here said.
He said that during the exchange of fire, Sepoy TK Reddy and Defence Porter Mohammad Zahier were grievously injured and succumbed later.
Six other personnel including one defence porter also sustained injuries and are under medical treatment.
Sepoy TK Reddy, 21, belonged to village Obulapuram, Tehsil Giddaluru, District Prakasam, Andhra Pradesh and is survived by his mother Gurrumma.
Mohammad Zahier,22, belonged to village Kalali, Tehsil Manjakote, District Rajouri, J&K.
Sepoy Reddy was a brave and sincere soldier and Mohammed Zahir was an honest and dedicated worker.
The nation will always remain indebted to them for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
