Khatana demands adequate medicare for livestock

JAMMU, OCT 12: The State President, Gujjar & Bakkarwal , Choudhary Nazakat Khatana during his visit to Wardwan area viz Kunjtal nalla, Drabgam nalla, Sahna nalla, Suknai nalla, Ajka nalla, Dardang nalla and Chhata-pani, observed that nomad population is suffering a lot due to lack of adequate medical facilities for the livestock. There is acute need of veterinary medicines for livestock, resulting in untimely death of a number of animals. Moreover, medicines which are available in market are totally fake and useless, thus adding to the woes of poor people. The Department of Sheep & Animal Husbandry has done nothing to mitigate sufferings of poor people.
Khatana was addressing a Press Conference in Jammu today.
He further appealed to the State Govt to close two Veterinary medicine factories at Gangyal and Bari Brahmna, as both the factories are producing useless and cheap medicines for the welfare of poor people besides directing the concerned to provide adequate medicare for poor nomad people of the State living in far-flung areas.
