Lt Gen Saranjeet is new GOC White Knight Corps

Jammu, Oct 11: Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh on Wednesday assumed command of the elite White Knight Corps from Lt Gen AK Sharma.
In a farewell message, General Sharma complimented all ranks of White Knight Corps for their professionalism and dedication and thanked the civil administration for the excellent synergy with the Armed Forces.
Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh was commissioned in 1981 into the SIKH Light Infantry Regiment.
The General officer is an alumnus of DSSC, Wellington, Army War College, Mhow and National Defence College, New Delhi.
He is well versed with the terrain and existing operational dynamics of the area South of Pir Panjal having commanded a Brigade and a Division, in this region.
The General officer has also held various operational and staff appointments in field formations and also had tenures in Perspective Planning Directorate and Military Operations Directorate at Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army).
He has been an instructor at the NDA, the Army War College and a team leader at that Army Training Team in Botswana.
Before taking charge of the corps, Singh was chief of staff at the South Western Command, the officer said.
On assuming command of the corps, he asked all ranks to continue working with the same enthusiasm and always be combat ready to thwart the nefarious designs of enemy, he said.
