Jammu, Oct 11: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today slammed picture of woman separatist leader Asiya Andrabi on a poster ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ appeared during a campaign in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Andrabi’s photo was featured alongwith images of Kalpana Chawla, Kiran Bedi, Mother Teresa, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Sania Mirza and others.
However, the poster displays ‘Child Development Project Officer ICDS Breng’.
“This is a deliberate attempt of mischief,” Ravinder Sharma, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson and former MLC here said.
He said that earlier it was Shahbad Colony instead of Bahu Fort project, change of nomenclature of Shankracharya Temple like incidents happened but this time limits have been crossed.
“The photograph has been intentionally placed on the poster to send message to the Separatists and the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, the government must reply to it,” said Sharma.
Meanwhile BJP MLA called the goof-up a mistake.
A hardline pro-Pakistan separatist leader who was arrested at least twice this year, and is said to incite women in Kashmir to pelt security forces with stones, was featured in a ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ poster at a tourism festival in Anantnag.
Dukhtaran-e-Milat chief Asiya Andrabi’s photograph was printed along with images of astronaut Kalpana Chawla, tennis ace Sania Mirza, singer Lata Mangeshkar, Puducherry L-G Kiran Bedi, and a Nobel Peace Prize winner, Mother Theresa.
