SRINAGAR, OCT 10: The Committee on Public Undertakings of J&K Legislative Assembly met here today under the chairmanship of Sat Paul Sharma and discussed the CAG’s Audit Paras pertaining to the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) for the year 2010-11.
Legislators, G M Saroori, Mohammad Khalil Band, Rajesh Gupta, Rajeev Sharma, Abdul Majid Larmi, Raja Manzoor, Vikram Randhawa and Ajat Shatru Singh attended the meeting and shared their views on the subject.
The Committee held threadbare discussion on the Audit Paras and examined the updated status of the Enquiry Report of Crime Branch and Action Taken Report against the officers who authorized the Class-IV employees for managing the affairs of the Stores during the year 1993 causing mess in the functioning of the department thus resulting huge loss to the State exchequer. The Committee sought latest status of the case along with the progress report regarding the stay on proceedings of Crime Branch by the State High Court. The Committee also desired the details of the physical verification alongwith the comprehensive list of the defaulting Storekeepers in the next meeting.
Among others, Director FCSCA, R A Inqlabi; Special Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Rattan Lal Sharma; Director Finance, N A Wani and other senior officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
