KARGIL, OCT 9: Baqirya Health Care and Research Centre Kargil (Health Wing of IKMT) conducted a free Vaccination camp against Hepatitis-B in collaboration with NHPC Kargil at Imam Bargah Kanoor. The camp was organized with an aim to completely immunize the uninfected population of the District against Hepatitis B in a phased manner.
The camp was inaugurated by Ashok K Grover, Chief Engineer and Shiekh Mohd Muqadas (Imam-e-Jummah, Kargil town) who were Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively on the occasion.
Shiekh Mohd Hassan, Shiekh Gh Sayidain, Dr Munawwar Hussain Wazir (BMO Sankoo), Dr Willayat (President BHC & RC), Dr Nasir Irfan (SMO) NHPC, Dr Asif Hussain, Dr Ghulam Mehdi, Dr Ahmad Ali and officials from NHPC Kargil were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok K Grover briefed about the community services rendered by NHPC under CRC Scheme. Lauding the services rendered by BHC & RC Kargil in health sector, he assured help and cooperation of NHPC in implementation of various health related programmes in future.
Shiekh Mohd Hussain Moqaddas, expressed his gratitude to the agencies for providing immunization services in village Kanoor. He prayed for the success of BHC & RC in their future endeavours.
President BHC&RC briefed about the aims and objectives of the vaccination programmes and future plans for remaining parts of Kargil. Dr Nasir Irfan, Sr MO NHPC presented the vote of thank.
During the camp, a total of 700 patients attended the camp. All the children below age 10 and 40 adults were already vaccinated. Among the 660 patients screened, 61 were found to be already infected and were advised to attend OPD at BHC&RC building on Sundays or at district hospital. Remaining 599 patients were given first dose vaccine. Next dose of vaccine will be given on November 11.
