All India Devotional Songs competition begins

KATRA, SEP 22: As a part of Navratra Festival 2017, All India Devotional Song Competition began at Yog Ashram Complex last evening with lighting of traditional lamp by Yog Acharya, Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaja in presence of celebrity singers Nidhi Kohli and Peji Shah Koti (brother of famous singer Master Saleem).
In the preliminary round of competition, Vivek Mohan from Jammu and Anmol Raja from Hoshiarpur bagged 1st position while Mohinder Soni from Jammu and Sukhjinder Yamla from Amritsar clinched 2nd position and Sargam Sharma from Link Road Jammu was declared 3rd, among 12 auditioned participants, out of which 5 were from outside the State and 7 were from the State. The winners were awarded cash prizes of R10000, R5000 and R3000 respectively.
The proceedings of the competition were conducted by Rakesh Wazir, who is also the Chairman of this competition. He informed that famous singers have been lined-up for their guest performances during the event. Giving details, he said Shanker Sahni and Amrinder Bobby will perform on 25th September, Hasmat/Sultana on 26th September, Nooran Sisters on 27th September, Diljaan and Masha Ali on 28th September and finally Hans Raj Hans will perform in finals, to be held on 29th September. The live telecast of event is available on Shradha MH1 from 9 pm onwards daily.
The All India Devotional Song Competition is being organized by SMVD Shrine Board and Department of J&K Tourism with active support of District Administration, Shradha MH1, Shiv Khori Shrine Board, J&K Bank, Ramada City Center Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super-Specialty Hospital, Pure Roots Herbal, Nidesh Builders Pvt Ltd Jammu, 92.7 Big FM and local hosts.
It is worthwhile to mention here that entries of the preliminary rounds is going on and participants can enroll themselves at Tourist Office, Katra or on phone numbers 01991-232005, 233301, 233302.
Meanwhile, Prabhat Pheris Reception Committee, Katra today took out its first Prabhat Pheri, as a part of Navratra Festival in Katra.
The Prabhat Pheri was flagged off by Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K State Sport Council in presence of SDPO Ashok Kumar and Babu Ram Dubey former Chairman of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Katra. Prabhat Pheri started from Bus-stand Katra and after passing through Ban Ganga road and Darshani Deodi, came back via main bazaar to Bus Stand Katra.
