Jammu Division lifts Handball title

Leh, Sep 12: The ongoing State Level Inter Divisional Hand Ball AAG (Boys) Tournament J&K 2017-18 concluded today at NDS Sports complex.
Executive Councillor Dorjay Motup was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The State Level Inter Divisional Hand Ball for Boys U-14, 17 and 19 years commenced on Sept 10 in which around 96 players participated.
The final match was played between Kashmir Division and Jammu Division in U-14 years Boys in which Kashmir Division won by 4-0.
Rest of the titles in U-17 and U 19 categories were lifted by Jammu Division.
Haji Mirza Hussain, Deputy Director Youth Service and Sports J&K Govt gave a brief about the tournament.
He said, there are several sports were played from past one week in Ladakh region according to the sports calendar activities of 2017.
Form Sep 6 to 8 Sports like Archery, Boxing and Table Tennis were played with the participation of more than 450 in Kargil district and from Sep 10 to 12 State Level Inter Divisional Hand Ball Tournament for Boys with the participation of more than 100 including Jammu and Kashmir Division was held in Leh.
In 2016, more than one lakh participants participated in several Sports tournament in J&K likewise, more than two lac sportspersons participated in 2017 Sports tournament.
There were total 18,000 participants selected for National games and 119 medals was won in J&K National Schools games federation in 2017. He said, he will try to release additional fund for the development in the region and in future manage to organize Sports Festival in Leh.
Speaking on the occasion EC Dorjay Motup said, sports are the secret for physical development and growth in individual.
Both the finalist team displayed a good team spirit and maintain discipline is most important in all Sports. He requested to release funds for the growth of Sports in Leh.
