JAMMU, SEPT 1: MLA Jammu East, Rajesh Gupta today laid foundation stone for upgradation of Basket Ball Court at Mini Stadium, Jammu. The project, being executed by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council, will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 19 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gupta said that sports is an integral part of personality development. This facility will help in grooming budding sportsmen thus enabling them to compete at National and International levels, he added. He further said that Government intends to upgrade sports infrastructure, with latest facilities in the State so that the sports-skill of State’s youth is harnessed to the optimum. He informed that upgradation work of play-field costing Rs 42 lakh at Mini Stadium would also be started at the earliest.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma; officers of Sports Council besides a large number of sports persons and locals.
